History
Jockey Club Tsin Yin Day Activity Centre cum Hostel, one of the service centres under the management of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex, commenced operation in November 1997.
Objective
Provide training & activities to persons with intellectual disability, aiming at strengthening their independent living skills, enhancing their quality of life & developing their fullest potential, & to achieve the concept of integration and sharing the care-giving responsibility with their families.
Facilities
The centre with an area of 1244 sq.m., consists of 10 dormitories, 4 training rooms, exercise corner, a sitting room & a dining room. Besides, there are communal facilities include the multi-purpose hall, central kitchen, central laundry, car pool, tuckshop and kiosk. Individuals in need can use the central occupational therapy rooms, physiotherapy rooms & hydro-pool.
Service Recipients
- Aged 15 or above with low moderate to severe grade of intellectual disability who are able to follow simple instruction
- Free from acute medical condition or contagious disease
- No serious aggressive behavior
