History

The centre commenced operation in 1988 to provide child care and educational services in Wong Tai Sin District. It was renamed Tung Wah Group of Hopitals Fong Shiu Yee Nursery School in 1993 after a donation from Fong Shu Fook Tong Foundation. With the implementation of Harmonization of Pre-primary Services, the centre was registered under Education Bureau as Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre with effect from 1 September 2005.

Objective

  • To provide safe and enriching environment for children's learning and development by well-trained child care staff
  • To foster good daily habits of young children and self-care ability
  • To foster development of children's social, intellectual, emotional, language, arts and creative and physical abilities
  • To advise parents/ carers on child care and rearing related matters

Facilities


The nursery school has floor area of around 375 sq. m., which includes activities rooms, indoor playground, music room, kitchen, kid's lavatory, supervisor room, staff room and store room etc.
Each activity room provides a diversity of age-appropriate learning corners, such as dramatic play, reading and writing, art and crafts, science corner, constructive play, computer programme, etc.

Service Recipients

  • Children aged 2 - 6
  • Priority placement would be granted to families with social needs referred by Social Welfare Department.
