History
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Aberdeen Child Care Centre was founded in 1997 as the first combined child care centre to provide day care and educational services to children aged 0 to 6 in Southern District. The centre was renamed Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Shiu Wong Lee Moon Fook Child Care Centre after a donation from the Shiu Wong Lee Moon Fook Charitable Foundation in 2003. With the implementation of Harmonization of Pre-primary Services, the centre was registered under Education Bureau as Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centre, namely Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Shiu Wong Lee Moon Fook Nursery School, with effect from 1 September 2005.
Objective

To provide safe and supportive environment, allowing children to develop their self-concept, and hence the positive attitude of respect and acceptance towards oneself and others

To develop and enhance children's social, intellectual, emotional, language, arts and creative and physical abilities through a broad, stimulating and well balanced curriculum and activities

To provide well-balanced and nutritious meals for healthy growth of children and to foster healthy daily habits of children

To prepare children for smooth transition to primary schooling

To advise parents/ carers on child care and rearing related matters
Facilities
The nursery school has floor area of around 600 sq. m., which includes dormitory for infants and toddlers, activitiy rooms, indoor big muscle playground, music room, children's toilet, kitchen, supervisory room and staff room.
Each activity room provides diverse age-appropriate learning areas for dramatic play, reading and writing, art and craft, exploration and science learning, construction play, computer program, sand and water play, etc.
